CUTTING AND STAMPING
Tailoring (cutting) aluminum profiles requires appropriate tools, correct technique and precautions in order to achieve precise and clean cuts. Success in processing depends on the correct choice of equipment and adherence to key steps.
Various types of tools are used for cutting aluminum profiles, from manual to highly automated machines:
- Hand tools: For smaller, thinner profiles, hand saws with appropriate metal blades can be used.
- Ger saws (angle/circular saws): Ideal for precise cutting at an angle (e.g. for door/window frames). The key is to use a dedicated aluminum blade.
- Band saws: Recommended for thicker profiles.
- CNC automatic cutting machines: In industrial production, CNC automatic aluminum cutting machines ensure high precision, efficiency and consistency of cutting by using computer numerical control and servo system to feed the material.
- Laser cutting: An advanced method used in specialized processing centers.
In order to ensure a quality cut, attention should be paid to the following aspects:
- Choosing the right blade/saw blade: Aluminum is softer than steel, but tends to stick to the blade, causing friction and wear. Therefore, it is crucial to use professional video saws designed exclusively for cutting aluminum, with the appropriate number of teeth and geometry.
- Correct clamping of the profile: The profile must be firmly fixed in the vise of the cutting tool to prevent movement during the cut and ensure a clean and straight cut.
- Use of Coolant/Lubrication: The use of proper lubricants or coolants is essential to reduce friction, prevent chips from sticking to the blade, and extend tool life.
- Stable and uniform cutting speed: A stable and uniform cutting force and speed should be applied, without haste, in order to avoid overheating of the material and the blade.
- Swarf removal: Regular cleaning of aluminum shavings from the work surface and around the blade is important for safe and clean work.
If your capacities are not sufficient, or you are just starting to do business with this type of production, you have the possibility to make an agreement with us. Partial processing and preparation of profiles.
It is enough to take it from the building where the windows will be installed, produce dimensions of the opening and agree with the desired level of processing. TAILORING, PINCHING, LOCKING AND ASSEMBLING.
In a very short time, you will receive assembled frames (stocks and wings) with all necessary machining.
